Production Assistant Role
Toronto, ON (Hybrid: In-Office & Remote)
Hours: 20–30 hours per week
About the Role
CARRY Maternity is a growing maternity apparel company seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Assistant to support our Designer and Production Team. This Toronto-based hybrid role supports the execution of seasonal development and production timelines and helps ensure the smooth flow of information, materials, and orders between design, suppliers, and local manufacturers.
Reports to: Designer and Director of Operations
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Designer and Production Team in executing seasonal development and production timelines
- Assist with purchase orders, production orders, and order tracking
- Communicate with local Toronto manufacturers and suppliers to monitor production status and delivery timelines
- Track samples, fabrics, trims, and production materials to ensure timelines are met
- Maintain production calendars and follow up on key deadlines
- Assist with fittings, sample organization, and production documentation
- Assist in maintaining Tech Packs, BOMs, and production records
- Ensure all production-related data and files are organized and up to date
- Help problem-solve production issues and escalate concerns when necessary
- Provide general administrative support to the production and design teams
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in apparel production, fashion design support, or a related field
- Familiarity with pattern making, garment construction, and the sample development process
- Ability to read and understand patterns, spec sheets, and garment measurements is an asset
- Experience working with Tech Packs and production documentation
- Experience assisting with production timelines and T&A calendars
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
- Experience working with local production is an asset
