#CARRYCARES x LIFT: The Bra Project

Here at Carry Maternity, we believe in carrying things forward and giving new life to clothing that no longer serves us. We want to create a community where women helping and supporting each other is easy and accessible.

Lift: the bra project organizes drop off locations across the city of Toronto for women to send their gently used and new bras (like that one that still has the tags on it at the back of your drawer…) to shelters around the city. Bras will end up with the YWCA, Jessie’s Centre, Sistering, The 519 and others. We’re honoured to be a partner of Lift: the bra project and do our part collecting bras for every woman, including moms and moms-to-be.

Lift: the bra project was founded by Michelle Cinapri in March 2019 and now collects about 1,000 bras a month. The organization continues to champion celebrating all women and bringing people together - we can’t wait to see how it continues to grow.

You can now drop off your gently worn bra donations here at Carry Maternity, located at 110 Cumberland Street. We’re glad to be able to collect bras of all colours and styles, whether it’s a maternity or nursing bra from a previous pregnancy, or even bras from before your pregnancy journey, Lift: the bra project is a great way to give your bra a new life.

A bra can be an expression of how we feel, something we keep close and that is only for us. Every woman deserves to feel supported - give another woman a lift with your donation.

Read more about Lift: the bra project and find a drop-off location close to you here.

All bras welcomed.
